- Wheel lug wrench
- C-clamp
- New brake pads
Instructions
- Park your car on a flat surface: Make sure the vehicle is parked securely and the parking brake is engaged.
- Loosen the lug nuts: Using your lug wrench, partially loosen the lug nuts on the wheel with the brake pads you want to change. Do not remove them completely yet.
- Lift your vehicle: Using the jack, lift your car and then securely support it with jack stands.
- Remove the wheel: Finish removing the lug nuts and take the wheel off.
- Remove the old brake pads: Use your socket set to remove the bolts keeping the brake caliper in place. Then, safely remove the brake pads from the brake caliper bracket.
- Install new brake pads: Place your new brake pads on the brake caliper bracket. Use your C-Clamp to push the brake caliper piston back in so you can re-attach the brake caliper.
- Reassemble: Put the wheel back, tighten the lug nuts, and lower the vehicle. Make sure to tighten the lug nuts once the car is on the ground.
- Test: Test your brakes to make sure they are working properly.
